Staff member Helen Guy-Williams who works in the Drama Department tells us how she has volunteered to use her sewing skills to make items of PPE during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The College have supplied me with 100 meters of fabric which is being turned into masks and scrub bags so as medical staff can remove their kit safely and wash items in the bags. I have to date supplied masks and kit bags to: The Princess Alice Hospice, St George’s Hospital, Witley Medical Practice, Surrey Rest Homes Weybridge, Sutton Lodge Care Home Weybridge and Sunbury Nursing Home. I am in process of making more masks for The Sunbury Nursing Home and Kit bags for St Peters and Kingston Hospital. I have also been making masks for Luton NHS with the charity ‘Binti’ a Period poverty charity who work with residents at Whitely Village the residents are making masks also. This came about through our community WhatsApp Group for our road, which has been in place since the beginning of the lockdown. ”
